Ready for Megapolis
I have completed the final install of the Nynex software and all dependencies on the kiosk machine. Although the software has its flaws, I won’t be making any more changes until festival time! I’ve received a request regarding another live outing of the project in a performance context, but for the moment all focus is on MEGAPOLIS! Baltimore, look out!

Some operations
If you have been following the project on SoundCloud or Twitter, you will have noticed the appearance of actual output. This is the final stretch to Megapolis. The Google Voice and upload handlers are complete. You can call the number to leave a message and the message will be absorbed.

I started writing actual code as opposed to designs and specs. Exciting! Once I get a test case running, I’ll be sure to post it.

Progress Blog Initialized
Hey everyone, welcome to the Republic of Nynex progress blog! So far, there is not a whole lot of progress. If you aren’t following my git commits, here is the lowdown: I’ve created an XCode project based on an openFrameworks example project and created modules for the different logical sections of code: SoundCloud, Twitter, Google Voice, voting, evolving, and UI. I’m just starting to create all the class interfaces for the non-fs1rgen sections. Once that’s complete, I will begin implementing the C++ parts, just enough to get to the point of making some noise.

From here, you can follow the software's development, read the progress blog, find out where in-person demonstrations will be occurring, listen to the project's creations on SoundCloud, join the announcement mailing list, see information on audio contributors, go back to the index, become a Facebook fan, or follow the project on Twitter. Soon, you will be able contribute your own audio recordings, listen to new compositions and rate them, listen to previous generations of compositions, and read about the Republic of Nynex's creator.
